Cocktails inspirés de ma vie quotidienne

A Fan of the Mollusk

Episode 4 of MAD MEN is on tonight, and again, I decided to prepare a cocktail that will put me in the MAD MEN mood.  Since I chose Don Draper’s favourite drink last week, it’s only natural that I should choose to celebrate Roger Sterling with a Martini this time.  I followed the recipe from The Unofficial MAD MEN Cookbook.

Roger Sterling’s Martini  The Unofficial MAD MEN Cookbook

1/8 oz Dry Vermouth

2 1/2 oz Gin

Garnish with Manzanilla olives

I was also in the mood for food, and so I made a short trip to the fish market to buy some oysters.  It reminded me of  season one’s episode, Red in the Face, in which Don and Roger spend an extended lunch hour in an oyster bar.

A fat Blue Point oyster.

More Blue Point oysters!

“I had no idea you were such a fan of the mollusk.”

Thanks Tiff. I have been a huge fan of the show since its debut. As well, there is so much drinking in each episode, that it will keep me inspired for a long while!
